Our Mission:

Teach One Billion People How to Breathe.

Breathing is the one act every human on Earth shares. It’s the universal language beneath all languages — older than culture, louder than beliefs, and truer than any story we tell about who we are. It doesn’t matter your age, your passport, your title, your bank account, or your background.

If you’re alive, you breathe.
The way you breathe, determines how you live.

Our first breath starts our story here; our final breath closes it. Everything we experience as “our life” happens between those two moments. And yet, we rarely give the breath any attention, much less learn to do it well.

Breathing consciously is the next revolution in healthcare, wellness, psychology, and human relationships. It is peace-building, community-building, deeply personal and political all at once.

Conscious breathing isn’t dramatic or loud. It’s honest & very simple. It brings us back into our bodies, back into our lives, back into what’s real. It builds calm—inside and between us. It helps us listen, pause, reflect, and respond instead of react. Breathing is a quiet form of peace-building.

And once you feel the impact of breathing well, you’ll naturally want to share it like I have. It’s way too important and feels way too good to just keep to yourself.

Those who breathe together stay together.

This is why People of the Prana exists.

Why I Teach People
How to Breathe

For over 25 years, I’ve worked as a psychotherapist, yoga and breathwork practitioner & health & wellness consultant—supporting thousands of people navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, and PTSD daily.

Again and again, I would see the same heartbreaking pattern:

People silently drowning in self-blame.
Feeling like they “should” be able to handle life.
Telling themselves things will magically get better… while they’re barely getting by.

BUT…

Most didn’t understand their nervous system.
Most didn’t know how stress actually works.
And almost no one understood how profoundly the breath shapes emotional and physical well-being.
Three people sit at a table; two in the foreground are practicing a breathing exercise with fingers on their noses, while a woman in the background stands and observes.
A simple illustration of human lungs in pink with yellow bronchi, blue dots, and pink droplet shapes scattered across both lungs on a black background.

Here’s the truth that changed everything for me:

99% of the people who identified as anxious weren’t actually breathing that well. Their breath was short, shallow, stressed, stuck—sending danger signals to a body that just needed safety.

But once they learned how to breathe well?

The shift was immediate.
Calmer. Clearer. More resilient.
More themselves.

The Missing Link No One Teaches You

Stress is the new normal.

Burnout is the new baseline.

And most people are one bad week away from collapse.

But here’s the part no one told us:

You can change how you meet stress.
Your anxiety is not bigger than you.
You can rewire your nervous system.
You can reclaim your sanity, your energy, your presence, your life —all through breath.

This is why I created People of the Prana — not as a business, but as a movement. A community. A remembering.

Therapy is powerful, but therapy alone can’t reach every moment of your life.
Breath can.

Breathing well affects how you think, communicate, parent, lead, create, love, and make decisions.

It strengthens relationships, deepens intuition, and anchors you in your body when everything around you is chaos.

The breath is the first tool you were ever given.

I’m here to help you use it.

WHO ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE PRANA ANYWAYS?

Meet Esther

I’m Esther Kalaba, M.A., RP — psychotherapist, art therapist, breathing teacher, daily meditator, health and wellness consultant and founder of People of the Prana and The SEED Lodge. I help stressed-out, world-weary, heart-heavy humans remember how to breathe, feel, and once again reconnect with their vitality, creativity and life force energy.

For over 25 years I’ve blended psychotherapy, somatics, breathwork, Kundalini yoga, art, sound, and nervous system science into an approach that is practical, creative, and deeply human.

My gift is to translate complex healing into simple tools anyone can use — in real life, on real days, in real moments of “I cannot do this anymore.”

My programs like Begin with Breath, Beat + Breath™, and Emotional Literacy have helped hundreds of people regulate stress, heal from trauma, and finally understand what the hell their nervous system is doing.

I’ve worked with individuals, organizations, healthcare teams, creatives, leaders, and everyday people across Canada — because breathing well belongs everywhere: in therapy rooms, classrooms, boardrooms, kitchens, forests, Zoom calls, ambulances, and bedrooms at 3 AM.

Meet Ma’amo

I’m Ma’amo Koba, a composer, producer, founder of Tree Mountain Studios, and co-founder of People Of the Prana. My work focuses on the physics of sound and its direct effect on the human body. I create functional music designed to regulate the nervous system, steady the breath, and support physical well-being.

My background includes extensive work in sonic branding and co-producing and engineering for Grammy Award-winning artists. Through this technical experience, I developed a specific interest in how frequency impacts the listener. I now focus on producing audio experiences that energize the body and clear the mind without relying on artificial stimulants.

My current project, Uṣma: Volumes 1-4, applies the structural cadence of the Japji Sahib to modern electronic music. I treat the composition process as a form of acoustic technology. The tracks are engineered to help listeners process stress and maintain focus using specific rhythmic patterns.

This collection serves as a practical tool for daily routines. Whether used for yoga, high-intensity exercise, or meditation, the music is built to support a healthy lifestyle. I share these sounds to provide a reliable resource for physical and mental clarity.

The slower you can breathe, the calmer you feel. The calmer you feel, the happier you will be.

Happy people = Happy world.

Join us and bring more peace to the world.
